Here is a quick and easy technique you can use with all sizes of decorative wire for some added interest in your designs.
1. Cut two lengths of wire and wrap each one around a thin piece of dowel (or stick) leaving a short straight section at either end.
2. Work the spirals sections together so that the pieces interlock with the straight sections on opposite sides – so you have two straight sections on each side of the spiral.
3. Slide onto the wire you are using for your design at intervals that look appropriate for the finished design – usually every 15cm.
4. To ensure they stay in place you can use either florist glue or squeeze them onto the base wire with pliers.
