If you have been following the “Supermarket Flowers Series” you will know that I have been purchasing flowers for the series from a local fruit and vegetable store. I was in luck this week as they had enormous bunches of spray roses (from a local garden) at a great price. This meant I could do quite a number of designs still using just one or two stems from the bunch.
Here I have utilised a container most commonly referred to as a “float bowl”. It is often used in specimen competitions to display short stemmed flowers such as pansies – they literally float in the water for judging.
For this design, I have filled the bowl with water in one section and made a grid with sticky tape so I can position the roses with the stems and foliage in place.
Here’s the video of how this design was put together.
