Easy Floral Arrangement Gift

It’s been a while since I shared a step by step design construction (as compared to the techniques which you can find by clicking here). This is one I made for a Christmas gift for our neighbour who enjoys her garden.

This is a lightweight plastic watering can from a local store into which I’ve squashed some coated chicken wire/wire mesh. The mesh is a better option than floral foam from a sustainability point of view so I try to use it whenever I can.

Following the line of the watering can spout and handle I have placed some woolly bush kangaroo paw and camellia foliage.

The focal point is a white agapanthus but rather than have this up high, I have placed it low in the design to balance it both visually and actually (the flower head is relatively heavy).

Further placements of kangaroo paw (yellow) and daisies complete the design. I wanted the design to look as though it had just been picked from the garden.

Our neighbour was delighted and still uses the watering can daily 🙂
