Bark and Blooms

Another of the plinth designs that needs to be interesting from every angle as it is judged all around.

Here I have used a large hollw upright section of a tree – only the bark remains. So from two sides the bark is the dominant feature whilst on the other side (the hollow) the “blooms” from the area of interest.

On the bark sides, I have brought some small hints of blooms in contrast to the other side where the blooms only give a hint of the bark background.

Judges Comments: Although a good interpretation of the title, this design appears to be in two parts – nothing brings the sides together enough for it to be a single design.

Groupings of flowers make this appear top heavy on one side and bland on the other. The base and sparse covering also detracts from a design with good components that are just not brought together well.
